A highly biased and selective look at the college life of Teri

All right, so the vibe from Celeste is no longer a problem.

We exchanged shifts today on Celeste's request, so that she could study for a big Spanish exam that she has tomorrow morning (she was supposed to close and I was supposed to leave an hour earlier, but we switched ). I had absolutely no problems working with her at all today. In fact, it was really pleasant. We work well together, actually, without the "unequal feeling" and she was kind enough to comment that she liked working with me. So that seems to have entirely blown over. Either I've "proven myself" now, or she's just used to working with me, but in either case, I'm glad.

You know, now that this is a null issue, I really don't think I've met anyone at that store yet who I truly dislike working with, which is, quite frankly, amazing.

To change the subject, have I mentioned before how much I absolutely adore(d) Austin radio, especially the 80s station? 107.7 The End was/is the best 80s station I've ever listened to. Just today, for instance, I've heard Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts", "World In My Eyes" and "Stripped" -- three songs which I've never heard radio-played on any other station. Plus, they recently got rid of the unbearable Kidd Kraddick morning show, which I thought was a wonderful move.

But...

My favorite afternoon DJ, Bo Chase, has also disappeared from the airwaves. And this past week, I've noticed something besides my usual great 80s music. I've started hearing other things, like the occasional Radiohead. And a bit of non-80s Lenny Kravitz. And some Goo-Goo Dolls. And, to top it off, a little Weezer.

Now, don't get me wrong: I like most of those musicians. But if I wanted to hear them, I would NOT be listening to "the best of the eighties" station.

I fear that my favorite station is slowly sinking to the "mix" level. Why, why?! The injustice of it all! Austin already has a good mix channel: Mix 94.7. I really hope this doesn't mean the end of The End...
