So, I started working on my chair today. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. In fact, it's actually kind of fun. I still have all of my fingers, and I haven't nailed myself to a table yet, so all is well.
In a few minutes I'm leaving to attend "The Starbucks Experience," which is an orientation/training program for new employees. Oh, the thrill. After today I'm really, truly going to be "working for the enemy" as several people have put it. Hee hee.
I noticed a flyer today calling attention to the availability of scholarships for the summer session of the Study in Italy program. Tomorrow, am I so going to spend some time talking to the advisors -- who normally do absolutely nothing for me, but if I can utilize them to dig up scholarship money, I will. Supposedly, one out of every three UT non-freshman students get some sort of grant or scholarship. I am skeptical, but it's worth a shot. On paper I look really good: I seem like a dedicated, overachieving studyholic. But I think we all know the truth...
