What I intended to do today: Wake up early, go to school and spend the entire day in the studio working on a self-portrait.
What I ended up doing today: Waking up early, then alternately reading and drifting back to sleep until noon, goofing off online, finally going to the theatre to see Chicago, and eating sushi for dinner.
Yes, I'd say today was a good day. I can always paint tomorrow.
Chicago was everything everyone had said it was, and more. What a fantastic film! Razzle dazzle doesn't even begin to describe it, really; it's so nice to actually see justice done to a Broadway musical on the big screen. I think this has to do with the fact that the presence of the stage and the vaudeville theme were not totally erased in favor of the more "realistic" film; rather, they were seamlessly intertwined, creating this wonderful, brilliant combination of stage and screen. I enjoyed it immensely. You know a movie is well done when you have to resist the urge to clap at the end. :)
The sushi was also a great experience. I know certain people who are somewhat obsessed with sushi, especially California rolls. Now I know why. California rolls are goooood. :)
And although my day has obviously not been strenuous, for whatever reason I'm strangely tired. In any case, there is a good book on my table just waiting to be read... and that, of course, is the best way I can think of to end the last weekday of my spring break.
