So yesterday classes were cancelled at UT -- and Starbucks closed at two in the afternoon, so I had an entirely free day. I did absolutely nothing. It felt good though. :) Today, thanks to last night's re-freeze, I don't have class until noon.
We should have ice storms more often. But not too much more often, because then people would learn how to drive in them -- and that would defeat the purpose of having one since it would eliminate school cancellations. But anyway, it's been a good couple of days. :)
Those from up North who have visited Austin during the past day have been thoroughly baffled by our reaction to the weather (which is pretty amusing, really. There was a large blue headline graphic on the news yesterday that read, "ICE STORM: It's Cold!!!"). In any case, the Northerners who had their flights cancelled and watched the city shut down due to some ice are pretty disgusted with our low cold tolerance. Hee hee. Texas is great.
And an update: My English teacher is iced in, thanks to inconsiderate neighbors who flooded the street with their sprinkler, and it's doubtful that she'll be able to make it to class. Thus, I am not going to class. Yay!
