I registered to vote about thirty minutes ago. The deadline for registration is midnight. Truly, I am a procrastinator of the highest order.
I had to close with the AMOD tonight. Truly, it was torture.
I have a big test tomorrow, and a quiz on a play I have not read, and a final discussion of Wieland, which I haven't finished. Truly, I do suck.
But enough of that.
On the bright side, Dr Kevorkian is "delighted" that I've decided to run with the fictional essay. In e-mail I requested that he also offer commentary on how the story works as fiction, to which he responded:
I'll be happy to provide the kinds of feedback requested; the kinds of attention to craft that interest you also seem appropriate. But of course, take my critique of the fiction with a grain of salt. I'm not a professional editor of creative writing.
I love it that I have a professor who admits that he doesn't know everything and encourages me not to consider his comments as completely perfect and sacred advice. That said, none of my betas are professional editors, either, and I'm sure that his commentary will be insightful and valuable and all that. Out of all my English profs, I think Martin Kevorkian has given me the most useful, intriguing and thoughtful commentary on my essay writing.
By the way, possible betas (that is, ): I'm looking at having you people beta this story in the second revision. I'll probably just throw the first draft at my professor as is, and see what he says. He grades based on a portfolio of work, which means I'll have time to revise.
Now, I must study.
