Karaoke!
A lot of people don't realise that I do, in fact, have a bit of the performer in me. I'm not a spectacular performer -- though I'd probably be better with practice -- but every now and again, I like to do something that most people would qualify as "out of character" for me.
Karaoke is one of those things.
I went out with the usual group of co-workers last night, as a final send-off for Chris who is joining Jon in Colorado on the first of October. The last time we went out to karaoke, we were saying goodbye to Jon. That night, everyone sang at least once.
I sang "Like a Prayer". Because you know, if you're going to do karaoke, you might as well go all out, right? Apparently no one expected this from me. Heh heh.
Last night, I was the only one to get up and sing. I did the single Depeche Mode song on the list -- which was, conveniently, "Policy of Truth". Karaoke is way more fun when you know the song like the back of your hand. I had the best time. And still, no one quite expected this from me.
And you know, it's so much more enjoyable when no one sees it coming. :)
