Debates and Rakes
I rarely get political here, but since I did indeed have The Debate on in the background last night, I bring you my five-second summary:
Bush: The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein!
Kerry: Wrong war, wrong time, wrong place! Visit JohnKerry.com!
Bush: Saddam!
Kerry: .Com!
In other news, I have a title for my "fictional essay". Sure, I'm just stealing it from the full title of The Coquette, but I quite like it anyway:
The Rake; Or, the lost letters of Charles Deighton; an essay in fiction, founded on literature.
By a Lady of the University of Texas.
*giggles*
Speaking of which, is there anyone out there familiar with the seduction story and the "unreformed rake" -- or eighteenth-century lit in general -- who would be interested in betaing this thing? I don't expect anyone to have an actual knowledge of The Coquette, of course, since it's fairly obscure, but I don't think it would be completely necessary to get the gist of what's going on.
