Mission: Impossible

Let me just state for the record that women who wish for large breasts are being stupid, and have no idea what they're really wishing for.

Today, I set out to buy a strapless bra.

Four hours later, I returned with $100 worth of clothing -- some of which requires a strapless bra -- but did not find aforementioned bra.

I have this feeling that I'll either have to pay out the nose for it, or give up on wearing cute things that have thin straps or off-the-shoulder sleeves. It's quite tragic, really, and incredibly frustrating. There is a Wonderbra in my size, which boggles the mind -- I can tell you, no woman with a DD cup size needs a Wonderbra -- but a strapless bra that fits is impossible to find. I mean, all I want is a decent strapless underwire. Is that really so much to ask?

It can be a real pain when you have the opposite problem, too. I remember going into a lingerie store in a large mall in Los Angeles (where, silly optimistic me, I thought they might have anything) and asking the two salesclerks, "Do you have anything in a 38A?" They just looked at me. One of them laughed.

The Anderson women are afflicted with huge ribcages (though you'd never know it to look at us) and small cup sizes. Makes bra-buying a miserable ordeal. And I agree with Natasha about strapless bras being hopeless on this end of things, too...

Natasha: I wouldn't buy anything without trying it on first, so the website is probably out unless I was getting something I'd tried on in-store. I likely would be able to find something in VS, but I was trying to avoid that price range.

Rebecca: Yeah, but if you're a 38A who really wants to wear a shirt with thin straps, it's much more possible to get by wearing it without the bra. With a DD you'd just look nasty. :)

Though it does seem that finding good strapless bras pretty much suck for everyone. At least with a mid-range cup size, though, you have a lot more options.

It's time like these that remind me just how great we guys really have it. We totally don't have to worry about any of this stuff!

Ah, it's wonderful...

There is a part of a prayer Jewish men say that, very roughly translated, means "Thank you God for creating me a man". I can't imagine those things being comfortable.

Sorry I can't offer any advice - all the females I know are on the skinny side (should I mention it definitely being _not_ my type?)
