A highly biased and selective look at the college life of Teri

I would just like to state for the record that the producers of Ghost were grossly overestimating the romantic qualities of a pottery wheel.

I have discovered, much to my dismay, that throwing pottery is very difficult for me. And I am very bad at it. This is kind of a crushing blow, because I've been looking forward to learning the wheel ever since the beginning of the semester -- and my complete and utter failure at it basically ensures that I have NO HOPE for a decent final project grade, because I can't even make one cup! I have watched demo after demo. I have tried and tried and tried again -- and I am still trying. By next week, we're supposed be able to whip out 10 cups in 15 minutes. I don't foresee myself reaching that goal for at least another five years.

In other news, I have recently been hunting high and low for a place to pick bluebonnets -- preferrably a place where my little law-breaking action won't be viewed by an entire highway of passing vehicles. Then yesterday I realised that the whole field behind my apartment complex is covered in bluebonnets. Duh. :)

And now, I shall subject you all to another of those pointless question-and-answer things!

Act your age? Older -- most of the time, anyway. Most people don't realise that I'm 19.
Born on what day of the week? Thursday, I think.
Chore you hate? Washing dishes.
Dad's Name? Michael.
Essential make-up item? Lip gloss, I guess -- when I actually DO wear makeup, that is.
Favorite Actor/Actress? I love Gillian Anderson, even though I don't believe she's done anything since the final episode of The X-Files. But I still think she's a terrific actress -- I mean, have you seen her in interviews? She's a complete airhead! And she carried off her role as super-scientific Scully for nine years. That's talent. ;)
Gold or Silver? I like both of them.
Hand you write with? Right.
Instruments you play? On the piano, I can play "Heart and Soul" and "Chopsticks" with the best of them... but my instrumental experience ends there.
Job title? Student. Also, Barista -- which sounds really cool at first, but any interest or allure the title may have is taken away once I give the explanation: "I'm the coffee girl at Starbucks."
Kids? Eventually.
Living arrangements? A very nice two-bedroom apartment that I share with my best friend.
Make of vehicle? Saturn S-series.
Number of people you've slept with? None, thank you.
Overnight hospital stays? I've probably had at least four of them. Most recently was Spring Break last year, which was the worst hospital experience of my entire life.
Phobias? Needles (see above). It's a true phobia too -- I'll never understand why some people like to say they have various phobias, because real phobias SUCK.
Quote you like? I like a lot of quotes, hence the "Quote of the Week" on my sidebar. Which I probably should change.
Rock Groups? Well, if we pretend that "rock" means "synthpop", then the answer is, of course, Depeche Mode.
Siblings? A younger sister and a younger brother.
Time you wake up? Six o'clock, then I snooze for at least thirty minutes, and really get up around 6:30 or 7.
Unique habit? At work, I always arrange the Tazo teabags according to color and in the order of the spectrum. Slightly obsessive-compulsive, I know. :)
Vegetable you refuse to eat? Lima beans. Actually, beans in general -- except for green beans.
Worst habit? Procrastination and nail-biting. Oh, and skipping class. :)
X-Rays you've had? I dunno. Lots of dental X-rays.
Yummy food you make? I can make some pretty mean ramen noodles. OK, seriously -- I used to be able to make an awesome cheesecake, and my mushroom quiche is nothing to sniff at, if I do say so myself. But other than that... I am hopeless in the kitchen. I can't even use the electric can opener without problems.
Zodiac sign? Aries.
