Happy Halloween
Supposedly, we fortunate few who are working tonight are allowed to come to work dressed in costume.
This morning, I gave Hope permission to come to work dressed as a "casual barista" or alternately as a "last minute borrowed partner". I think it's a pretty darn good idea for a costume, myself.
I am going to dress up as a literary pun. I'm wearing jeans and a lightweight red sweater. If my evil assistant manager asks any questions, I will simply reply:
"I am dressed up! Don't you get it? I'm wearing The Scarlet Sweater."
Hee hee. Me = dork.
I hope we don't get into much trouble for this, but I'm pretty sure that our manager won't mind -- and if she does, I'll take the blame. But I can't see Lesley really caring whether we wear plain clothes one day out of the year.
And now, I'm off to the Texas Book Festival before I go to work. Hopefully I'll return with a signed book for Micki, since Margaret Weis is going to be there.
