Packity pack pack
You know, you never realise how much random junk you have until you start trying to pack it all.
I'm trying to throw out what I can, but the various things just keep springing up, seemingly out of nowhere. And I'm going to have to do this all over again a year from now -- though then, at least, I'll have Micki around to help.
Sigh. To make things worse, I have this urge to write up that Snape essay I've been pondering for the last few weeks. Why is it that the creative juices always seem to flow when I have other, more pressing matters to attend to? (She said, as she sat down to her computer, flipped through her f-list, and wrote a blog. I am a hopeless case.)
I also really want to do the book quotes meme, but naturally all of my books are boxed up already, save the very few that escaped my book-packing frenzy on Friday (which include Hemmingway, Tolkien, a history textbook, and the Harry Potter books that I've not recently lent out -- but quoting Potter books in the meme would be far too easy, given the general fannishness of my readers).
I think I'm going to order a pizza.
School starts tomorrow, on top of everything else. UT is currently touting its new rank as #14 on the US News and World Report's list of America's best public universities. They're also apparently the Kaplan/Newsweek "hottest state university" for 2005. Yippee-skippy.
It's hard to believe I've only got a year left.
I tell you what, for the most part it's been an easy three years. For the fourteenth best public university in the nation... UT is a breeze. In my departments anyway.
I wonder sometimes whether I'm missing out on something, since I have such an easy time in college. Is it because I'm good, or because I really should be involved in some other program that would have been more suited to my abilities? I wonder.
Okay... time for more packing. Yes. Packing.
