Friday Five and such

1. Using one adjective, describe your current living space. Untidy.

2. Using two adjectives, describe your current employer. Starbucks: overrated, corporate coffee. (Yes, I know I added a noun. So?)

3. Using three adjectives, describe your favorite hobby/pasttime. Writing: Challenging, rewarding, inspiring.

4. Using four adjectives, describe your typical day. Messy, tiring, thoughtful, uneventful.

5. Using five adjectives, describe your ideal life. Peaceful, loving, gratifying, joyful, fulfilling.

So yeah, anyway. Biggest news of the past few days that's postable: I got my cetology essay back from my professor. He called it "outstanding... a wonderful elucidation of an elusive chapter". And he thanked me for it. Twice. :) You know, I really do enjoy essay writing, and not just because my teacher gives me feedback like that.

Dropped by the faculty art exhibit and show opening last night. Troy had a piece of his in the faculty show this time round. It was just gorgeous. I love Troy's work -- slides don't do it justice. I chatted with him a bit about seeing his work in NYC this Christmas, but he doesn't have anything there at the moment, alas. He did tell me to drop by his classroom next week, though, and he'd give me a list of less known but really outstanding galleries to see while I'm there, so that's cool.

Have I mentioned that yet? I don't think I have. So I'll be spending Christmas and a few days after in New York City this year, with the family. We're doing the round of plays and museums and such. It'll be fun. Hopefully I'll also get to get together with Melissa and have lunch or something. :) I'm looking forward to it.

I have another art show (a closing reception) to go to tonight -- this time a student show. Trinh was in Italy with me and I'm looking forward to seeing her work. Adrienne's also stopping by with her friends later tonight to hang out -- and so I can record everyone's conversation for my linguistics project. I am so glad that Adrienne is willing to subject her friends to this sort of thing in the interests of research. ;)
