Random Musings

A highly biased and selective look at the college life of Teri

I'm really excited. So excited. And I can't even share publicly what I'm excited about. There's a downside to cool surprises... it's hard to keep them a surprise.

Oh, well. You'll all see eventually. :)

On a random note, I've had some pretty amusing search referrals before. Amongst the hordes of people searching for things like "Tom/Ginny NC-17" (squick, squick, SQUICK. Stop coming to this page, people! There's nothing here for you!), I've also had amusing searches like "inflatable bevo" or my personal favorite, "romantic times in Tomball". But this one takes the cake:

"how to speak parselmouth language from harry potter".

Some people, I tell you...

On another random subject, after four months of living with cable, I've just now discovered the VH1 Classic channel. Why it took me this long to find this channel, I have no idea (since you'd think that a program titled "We Are The Eighties" would have caught my attention sooner). So, this weekend, I turned off my playlist for once and turned on VH1 Classic's all-80s marathon. I learned a few of things.

1. The video for Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" is, in my opinion, the epitome of an 80s music video. It includes everything that makes 80s videos fun: weird images, funky graphics, and most importantly, claymation.
2. Depeche Mode videos aren't really anything special, and sometimes they don't do justice to Depeche Mode songs.
3. The video for a-ha's "Take On Me" has to be the best music video ever. The animation is cool, and it tells a complete coherent story in three minutes! Plus "Take On Me" is a good song, but that's beside the point. :)
