Today's events: Did well on one exam, completely blew the other. I guess you could say I broke even.

As of tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock, I will be finished with my sucky fall semester, which has been marked by much insomnia, balancing between work and school, and a general classroom apathy. Yeah, I'm ready for it to be over. Although it hasn't been a complete waste of my time. I learned some things.

I've already gone on about how wonderful my writing class was. Of the five classes I had this semester, it was by far the best -- the only one I can say I truly enjoyed and genuinely learned from. I never skipped this class.

My art class, as I predicted early in the semester, was certainly not the most enjoyable class, to put it mildly. But I learned from it. I learned that I should stay out of the woodshop and away from soldering irons. I also learned that my decision to concentrate in 2-D media is a very wise move. That being said, I'm taking a ceramics course next semester. Oh, the irony.

My paleontology course was much less fun than I thought it would be. However, the course did prove -- in case I ever had any doubts -- that paleontology was really not a major for me. I mean, sure, I find it interesting -- but not as much as I once did, and not enough to make a career out of it. This reassurance, I'm sure, will somewhat disappoint my father, who I think has secretly been hoping that I'd abandon this "arts" thing and branch into the sciences.

And that's where the "good" (or at least, "not quite so bad") side of my semester ended. My theatre course just sucked. It was boring and my teacher was outrageously annoying. I skipped a lot. My Texas political history course sucked. It was lifeless and my teacher sounded like a brain-dead Norm MacDonald. I skipped a lot.

Yup. Definitely glad it's almost over.
