Jolly good, wot! Anyone for tennis? That'll be ten ponies, guv. You're the epitome of everything that is English. Yey :) Hoist that Union Jack!
How British are you?

Well, I got a good laugh out of that.

I upgraded my OS to Windows XP today. Now I won't have to worry about the increasing problems that Windows ME had been giving me lately. Yay!

For those of you who haven't noticed, it is mid-November. Not even Thanksgiving yet, and Starbucks has already totally decked their halls with tacky Christmas paraphernalia. All the way down to carols playing over the sound system. (The holiday CD includes a particularly butchered version of "Carol of the Bells" that sounds like it belongs in a horror film. Like the theme song to Halloween: The Christmas Edition or something. But I digress.) So, to all this, I add my own bit of holiday cheer:

Bah, humbug.

No, seriously. I am just not ready for holidays yet! Or, rather, I'm ready for the holidays, but not for Christmas. Honestly, why must we drive ourselves mad with all the material trappings of the holidays so early each year? It's not even Advent yet for me, and the weather outside is anything but frightful... and "Jingle Bells" is already ringing annoyingly through my head. And you know, all of this early installation of happy holidays is purely secular. No one remembers the religious meaning of Christmas until much later.

I'm all for Christmas spirit, really. But not yet, please. I still have classes to concentrate on. Erm, well, concentrate as much as I usually do, anyway. Plus, I don't like to be reminded of the fact that I don't have gift ideas, much less actual presents, for almost anyone. And my mom will kill me if I give Starbucks anything to anybody. ;)

But enough about the holidays. They aren't here yet... but my geology test is tomorrow. I should probably study for that. :)
