So I turned in my paper for writing class this afternoon -- and with that, I am finally, completely, and totally done with this semester. Woohoo! Now I just have to wait for the grades to come in. Blah.
I gave up on my Christmas shopping idea today, and postponed it till Friday. Instead, Micki and I took an afternoon trip to the theatre and watched Solaris. I must say, it's a rather disappointing movie. The premise is weird -- though I think it could be cool -- but it doesn't make an awful lot of sense, and it has a smattering of obvious religious metaphor and references thrown in towards the end, I guess to give it some "deeper meaning". Um, yeah. There are also several shots of George Clooney's butt, which definitely didn't give me any enlightenment on the plot or underlying interpretation of the story -- but whatever. In any case, it's not on my recommendation list.
I cooked this evening. Really cooked -- I don't mean throwing pasta into a pot of water. I made fried venison. Nothing exploded, turned colors, or burned to a crisp, either -- and it even tasted good. This is definite progress, especially for someone who manages to burn Kraft macaroni and cheese. I'm quite proud of myself. Congratulate me; this is a milestone of victory in Teri's Kitchen Wars.
