Whee! I'm back from vacation, relaxed and happy, and most importantly, settled in Austin. There is absolutely nothing like spending a week at the beach to brighten one's mood; however, when it was time to go home again, I was excited about that, too. So now I'm here, ready to go back to school and get a job and fun stuff like that. Life is pretty good.
I'm in a decorating mood right now, as all of our walls are bare. Micki and I, by coincidence, are decorating our rooms in a very similar color palette, and the entire place is going to be color coordinated. So, I'm getting all excited about draperies and wall hangings (I'm all about fine art prints) and plants. It's fun. Or, rather, it will be fun, when we both have jobs and decorating funds.
We've also got to start up our Cultural Experience Fund: we decided after seeing The Lion King that we should keep a jar or something on the mantel, and collect our spare change there to use it for tickets to theatrical productions and concerts and such. Les Miserables is coming to Austin in September, and even though I was not extraordinarily fond of the Broadway production, I'm quite willing to give the play another go. Of course, if we do get tix, I'm sure they'll be of the nosebleed variety, but hey, we can get binoculars.
However, before I do anything else, I think finishing unpacking would be a wise move. I do rather need my clothes, I suppose. :)
