Random Musings

A highly biased and selective look at the college life of Teri

A word to the wise:

Never, ever, EVER volunteer to work a four-hour opening shift, and then not sleep the night before. *crashes and dies*

Yes, my friends, I have been up since four p.m. yesterday afternoon. I spent most of the wee hours chatting with my newest flisty, who is one hilarious young man. But more importantly, he's a humble and devoted Catholic who vividly and beautifully discusses his passionate love for God, the Church, and his faith; the very things which I have felt fading from my life in recent months; the very flames I need -- and crave -- to rekindle lest they smoulder away.

We met over a grammar debate (or debacle, as it turned out in the end). Grammar and LiveJournal have led me to meet someone who manages to prod my spiritual consciousness more than anyone else has; how oddly apropos is that? God works in mysterious ways.

And now, I need a midafternoon nap. I have to close my own store at five. (I thought y'all were supposed to stop me next time I decided to take on one of these ten-hour split shifts? What gives?)

Oh, and a random note: Anyone have good gift ideas for a co-worker gift exchange? Maximum price is ten dollars. Come on, I know some of you are more creative with this sort of thing than I am.

Pardon me for sounding ignorant, but what's a "flisty"?

I suppose it should probably be spelled "flistee". Friends list --> flist. A person on my flist would be a flistee.
