The Obligatory Post-T-day Entry
So, Thanksgiving was all right. It involved a morning of packing and driving home, followed by a lot of deep-fried turkey, potatoes, asparagus, green beans (but not the casserole!), coconut creme pie and a square pumpkin pie. It did not involve extended family (I'll be seeing all of them in mid-December), so the day was relatively quiet and relaxing. We watched The Terminal in the evening. Be looking for one of my Snarktastic Movie Reviews in the near future, because this film deserves a liberal amount of MST.
I met my little sister's boyfriend. He's a huge dork, which was unexpected, but overall a very nice guy. I approve.
Friday I got new tires; and then my mom, sister and I spent our time shopping -- though thankfully not at the mall. I got part of my mother's gift (demitasse cups for her collection, hehe) and for myself, a salmon pink sweater that is teh cute. Oh, and thirty dollars worth of books. I cannot resist the cheap books!
Later Leah's friends came over for the leftover party that was unfortunately disappointing, as all the turkey had been consumed by my father and brother over the course of the day. So we had more of that square pie, and chocolate mousse, and the few remaining veggies, and some other leftovers contributed by the friends. Then we played Trivial Pursuit and Taboo, and were generally loud and obnoxious.
Saturday started out with bizarre car troubles that were resolved, but caused me to be a few minutes late for work. Ah, well.
And that's about it. Now it's back to the books and the paint. This is the last week of classes for the semester, yikes! I still have so much work to do!
However, scary as that seems, I can't wait for it to be over, because I have about four plot bunnies from three fandoms nibbling away at my brain. Nibble nibble, my little friends.
The End.
