It's not even noon, and already today is not a good day.
Once again, I have slept through my alarm clock, thus missing my morning art class. This is not good. I can only miss three art classes -- and after the third absence, my average will drop a whole letter grade. And I'm not exactly sure how many days I have missed in that class. I believe I've only been absent once -- making this the second offense -- but I'm not positive.
Now, granted, I am a very deep sleeper, but my Wal-Mart quality alarm clock is evidently not doing its job very well anymore. I actually set my alarm a full 30 minutes before I actually have to get up -- and not just so I can hit the snooze button a few times. I actually need that time for the stupid thing to wake me up. Unfortunately, sometimes it apparently doesn't work; while I very clearly recall turning on my alarm last night, I do not recall shutting it off this morning, and though I slept in for over two hours, the alarm was not buzzing incessantly the entire time. I wonder if this thing has an automatic shut-off after it beeps for an extended period of time, or if I just turn it off in my sleep. Or if my roommate turns it off after it goes on for too long, and doesn't bother to wake me up. I wouldn't put that sort of thing past her.
Oh, well. It looks like I'll have to go back to my tried and true method of waking up: turning my alarm to the Tejano station. It is the world's most annoying way to start the day -- thus the reason I have tried to avoid it -- but hey, you've got to do what you've got to do.
So, in other news, Alec and I finally finished the fourth part of The Arithmancer's Apprentice yesterday, bringing the total word count up to... 34,000 words. Wow. I can't believe I've written so much and spent that much time on this fan fiction. I am a nut. But, I'm a nut with only about 16,000 words to go now. Yay!
Unfortunately for me, I have a few other things I must attend to as well. For one, it's that time again -- Test Time! I love how all my classes have tests within the same week. And you see on the side of the blog there, where it says I've been reading The Way of Duty because I have to for history class? Yeah, well, I lied. I haven't even opened the book yet. Really, I meant to, but I just haven't got around to it yet... and the test is coming up. Hm. Although, I do have the comfort of knowing that I can bluff my way through a history exam with relative ease. I didn't read most of The Unredeemed Captive either, and when that question showed up on the test, I thought I was done for. I was so banking on a question about The Puritan Dilemma, but no. However, I still came out with an 86% on the exam. Nice. I love essay tests.
Oh, and let's see... I have that art history quiz tomorrow -- not that I'm actually going to study for it -- and my art history exam is next Wednesday. And my psychology research paper is due in the middle of April... well, I have plenty of time. The procrastination continues. With pleasure.
