Currently listening to: "You'll Never Get Over Me" by a-ha

Things I Could (and Should) Be Doing:

1. Laundry, considering I do sort of need clothes to wear today.
2. Something "fun" with my brother and sister. Happy family time, you know.
3. My art project, which is due on Monday and is not even halfway finished.
4. Writing fanfiction. Hey, at least it would be something constructive.

Yet, here I am, wasting more time on the Internet. I am so addicted.

So, last night, I was (predictably) upstairs on the computer, when my mother yells at me shrilly.

"Teri!! You got something from Amazon.com!!"

"Huh?" I answered.

I stumbled downstairs, where Mom was inspecting said package with a suspicious, baleful eye.

"What did you order on my credit card?!" she demanded sharply.

"Nothing!" I insisted, and she reluctantly handed over the box with an incredulous glance. Upon opening, I discovered that the package actually contained a video, The Court Jester, a comedy I've been told I should see, and will watch this afternoon. The lovely present, of course, was from none other than Cally Perry, Wonderful Friend and Gift-Giver Extraordinaire.

"So what was in the box?" my mother asked.

"A get-well gift from one of my online friends," I said.

She shook her head. "Your online friends are sending you gifts now? Who was it from?" She said this with a very thinly concealed smile, and a slightly worried look. I can tell she wondered if I might be receiving gifts from complete strangers overseas or something.

"From Cally," I answered, "She lives on the east coast."

"Oh," said Mom. "Well, you'd better send her a thank-you note."

And I will. Thanks, Cally. You rock!
