Currently listening to: "The Bottom Line" by Depeche Mode

Why does slow, melancholic music like this make me feel really good? Maybe it's because "The Bottom Line" has to be one of the most beautiful songs Depeche Mode ever produced, in my personal opinion. I've always said Depeche Mode is my favorite eighties band, but in point of fact, I really much prefer their later albums from the nineties. Of course, that was the time period when Depeche Mode was in Depressed Mode, but still, when you compare songs like "A Photograph of You" or even "Never Let Me Down Again" (which, actually, is still one of my favorite Depeche Mode songs, anyway) to songs such as "The Bottom Line" or "When The Body Speaks" -- it's quite easy to see the difference in the quality and depth and sound. Martin Gore's lyrics have gotten better and better, for one thing, but the whole ambiance changes from that eighties dance wave to a much nicer blend of music.

All right, so that was almost completely pointless. I'm going to go chat now.
