I'm baaaack!
OK, so I'm back safe and sound in Austin. Back to work this evening, too.
Christmas yielded, among other things, a lovely new coat, socks, and several books. I was most pleased.
New York was fun -- we stayed in the middle of Times Square, which was an experience. I didn't get to do all I wanted, but I enjoyed my time there. Highlights included the Metropolitan Museum of Art (though I didn't get to sketch), and the three Broadway shows: Phantom, Gypsy (with Bernadette Peters!), and Urinetown (which is an excellent show despite the terrible title). The second act of The Phantom of the Opera was the most moving rendition I'd ever seen. I cried through about half the play, which is unusual (but then, I cry at the drop of a hat these days).
