A highly biased and selective look at the college life of Teri

OK, so here's the deal with my school situation: Now that I've completed almost all of my "basic" courses, I've entered the territory of "real" college. And oh my gosh, I actually have to work. Therefore, I opted to drop my US History class, after seeing the amount of time and effort I'll have to put in to my other four classes, along with balancing my Starbucks schedule. Had the history course been a blowoff class like I expected, I might have kept it -- but since it was a course centered around "student participation" and class discussion and debate -- meaning I'd actually have to read the required material and go to class -- I decided it was best not to take it at the moment. I can take history any time.

That being said, I really am going to enjoy the other four classes I have (except perhaps Astronomy, which seems dry as dust right now, but we'll see). Ceramics, so far, is going rather well -- it's a lot of fun, and my professor is awesome. And believe it or not, I'm really, really looking forward to painting. Today, I did nothing but draw, but several times my professor stared over my shoulder making such comments as, "You must have painter's blood in you," and "You have such a wonderful painterly style!" He seemed genuinely excited about seeing what I'd do with a brush in my hand. Now, I've never had anyone act excited about my future artwork like this guy -- especially about my pitiful painting. It makes the exorbitant amount of money I spent on art supplies suddenly seem worth it. :)
