Evil!Tonks. It's the new Evil!Hermione.
My idea is a slight spin-off of Alec's Narcissa-the-Metamorphmagus-passing-off-as-Griselda-Marchbanks theory, which I have a lot of issues with. In my opinion, there's not nearly enough information to support the idea that Narcissa could be a sneaky shapeshifter without anyone knowing. But Evil!Tonks? Oh, yeah, I'm so there. Secretly brilliant spy playing all three sides -- Ministry, Voldemort, and the Order. She has the family history for it; she's gone back to the Old Way, you see, but she can still pass herself off as being decent folk. And she's already a known Metamorphmagus, so it still fits the Marchbanks idea.
And it sure does add a new element to the Tonks/Remus 'ship, doesn't it? Heh heh.

It's been a long time since I've been quite so enticed by a Potter theory. I don't think many people have suggested Evil!Tonks, if any -- have they? I certainly haven't seen it floating round the fandom. Of course, my own fandom floating is limited to certain areas these days.
Um... OK, this post makes almost no sense. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming.
