A highly biased and selective look at the college life of Teri

So, I was going to make a new template today, but I never finished it. I'll probably have it up before I go home on the 19th though. All in all I didn't get much of anything done today, really. I've been on a downloading binge lately, though, and it has yielded pleasing results.

You see, I had been searching fruitlessly for downloads of the songs off Dave Gahan's new CD, which doesn't come out till June -- thus making my search a difficult one. All I could find were stupid loops of "Dirty Sticky Floors" masquerading as the other songs. Until last night, when I found that mythical cache of actual songs! I have prevailed! And it was so worth the search, too. I am in love with the Paper Monsters album (and yes, I do plan to buy it when it comes out, so don't come after me in the night, Legal People).

The icing on the cake, though, is that Dave Gahan is going to be on tour in San Antonio in August -- woohoo! I am so there. And yes, I am a Sad Little Fangirl, thank you very much.

Tomorrow is my only day off work this week (excepting Monday, which hardly counts as a day off since I spent the whole time freaking out over my journal and exam). In any case, I have Big Plans for tomorrow. On the agenda: cleaning my room, cleaning my fantastically dirty car, packing my clothes for going home on Monday, packing my clothes for Italy, getting my required books and selling back my old books to the Co-Op, and, somewhere amid all that, finding time to lay out by the pool and also have a Very Important Plot Discussion.

Now, technically, I could probably do some of that stuff tonight. However, tonight I have set aside for writing. Yes, writing. A short story. A prologue, if you will. For a longer story. Thrilling, isn't it? Especially after a year's hiatus.

Though considering that I'm leaving for Italy in little more than a week, it's probably a Bad Idea to start the beginnings of what would normally become longterm writing. On the bright side, though, it will be rather interesting to be able to discuss the plot of this story with Alec in Real Life instead of online.

In other news, I managed a B in Astronomy. This is a relief, considering I never went to class and deserved no more than a C. I love it when teachers provide exorbitant curves. As for my other two grades, I predict B's as well -- but I figure I'll bring my GPA up to par with my classes in Italy.

So, yeah... Dave Gahan music, satisfactory grades, no more school, I'm writing again, in a little more than a week I'll be in Italy, in a month I'll be in England... I think this is the happiest I've been all semester. Life is pretty good right now. I should stop abusing the Capital Letters, though.
