So, I’ve actually contemplated the blog thing for a while now, but I’ve never created one. Why should I? I thought to myself. Sure, it looks fun, and all the cool kids are doing it, but what do I have to say? And would I actually update it, or would it just sit and collect cyber-dust? I resolved not to bother. Until now.
It all started with a complaint from a friend, concerning my second issue (or lack thereof) of my “Random Musings of a Self-Proclaimed Nutcase”, an e-mail newsletter full of personal anecdotes that I had originally intended to send out on a bi-monthly basis. It has now been six months since I sent out my first and only issue of “Random Musings”. I ought to call them “Really Random Musings”.
“It’s been six months!” my friend whined. “You said this was going to be a bi-monthly newsletter thing!”
“Yeah, well,” I replied guiltily, trying to come up with an excuse, “Didn’t I talk about how I’m the world’s biggest procrastinator in my first issue? You should have SEEN this coming! And besides, I never have any decent stories that are worth spending that much time on.”
But instead of accepting my lame excuses and leaving me alone, my friend had a suggestion. “Why don’t you start a blog! You know, a Random Musings blog, and you could post all the little things that happen.”
And the Lightbulb of Dawning Realization clicked on in my head…
A blog, of course! A way for me to continue my “Random Musings” on a more frequent basis. And an excuse for me to blog online. The perfect solution. Plus, now the whole world can take a glimpse into the weirdness that is my life!
Um, wait, that last reason isn’t necessarily a good thing, is it? Scratch that.
So, here it is. Let’s hope I don’t give up on it after a month.
